Anna Musikhina is a media artist, researcher, and performer based in Groningen, the Netherlands.

At the heart of her practice is a concept she calls Digital Wisdom: a way of understanding our personal and collective relationship with technology that shifts the focus away from the human as the centre. Instead, it draws attention to the algorithmic systems, data flows, and hidden infrastructures that quietly shape our digital realities.

Before turning to art full-time, Anna worked in the tech industry, specialising in biometric technologies like facial and voice recognition. This experience gave her an insider’s view of the ethical, social, and technical dimensions of data usage - knowledge she now transforms into critical, sarcastic, and often playful explorations.

Her work invites you to look beyond the shiny interfaces of your devices and ask what’s really going on behind the screen. Are our devices listening? Who controls and benefits from the data we leave behind? How do algorithms subtly train us in return?

Using AI, algorithms, and media as both tools and critical subjects, Anna creates installations, performances, and experiences that reveal the hidden logic of digital worlds. Through this lens, she encourages us to approach technology not just with convenience, but with curiosity, experimentation, and alternative practices. Rather than direct resistance, she explores how we might reclaim agency in digital worlds by reframing our habits, embracing slowness, misusing systems, or even creating noise within the algorithm.
